Hongkong Trip ’08 Day 2 and 3.

Day two in Hongkong was entirely for shopping. Right after we ate buffet breakfast at the hotel, so yummy I must say, we were off. We took the MTR to Central and Tsim Sha Tsui while we rode the taxi on the way back. OMG, our fare was 200HKD! HAHA.

The whole day wasn’t enough though. Jon had things in mind to buy and so did I so at the end, we didn’t manage to go to all the shops we wanted. We had priority shops to visit lang and the LV store is definitely mine. :D Jon on the other hand was looking for Y3 shoes and boy oh boy, grabe we spent the whole afternoon looking for them! The store his friend told us about which we looked for at Miramar Shopping Center is closed na! After hours of searching, sarado pala! He did manage to buy pa rin naman after we went around the whole Tsim Sha Tsui area yata. LOL.

The whole time, we were walking so slow. Syempre, I needed to be careful so imagine us strolling the streets of Hongkong as Jon would put it, walking on the moon daw. :D

By late afternoon, it started raining so we went back to the hotel and as I said, via taxi na.

Day three was supposed to be our Disneyland Day but there was a storm! We transferred to Disneyland Hotel and because of the storm, we didn’t make it to the park. So just imagine all the kids in the hotel! Riot haha. The hotel of course anticipated this so they prepared different activities for the kids such as storytelling, crafts, darwing, painting, coloring etc. Some opted to swim in the heated indoor pool but I didn’t let Sophia na. She was content playing with the other kids at the activity room and having a grand time posing with the Disney Characters roaming around the hotel.

Hongkong Trip ’08 Day 1

We left the house at 5:30am to catch our 8am PAL flight. We were in the airport in no time. Checking in was a breeze. By 7:10am, we were at the Mabuhay Lounge having our breakfast – overflowing congee, sandwiches, fruits, siomai, siopao and coffee.

Here’s me and Sophia while waiting for Jon.

The two of us again at the Mabuhay Lounge.

We were in HK excatly after 1 hour and forty minutes. Flight was on time and we were always given priority in the long lines at the immigration and boarding as I was pregnant and was with a baby pa. :D

We hopped on to our bus for our city hotel – Park Lane Hotel in Causeway Bay as soon as we got to HK airport.

Here’s the dad and Sophia while inside the bus.

We had lunch at the hotel and slept after. We woke up at 5pm and strolled around Causeway Bay. Our first stop was Toys R Us in Windsor House just infront of out hotel. Symepre pa, toys galore for the little girl. They didn’t have a Leapster though. Next was Sogo and then around the the streets of Causeway Bay lang. We had roasted duck for dinner after and overflowing salmon sashimi with soya milk! SARAP!!!!

For today.

I am hitting the mall today to get some grocery supplies while the little girl is in school. She is requesting for macaroni salad so I need to get ingredients for that. The yaya also told me to get shoe shiner as Sophia’s newly bought Stride Rite shoes badly needs shining. Yeah, after just two weeks! As I checked, they indeed look like they needed replacing LOL! They had scratches everywhere! This just shows how rough my daughter plays, eh? While at the mall, I will also drop by the bookstore to get the little girl another book of course to add to her collection and at the same time get A New Earth, Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose, a book from Oprah’s Book Club to give as gift to my Auntie who is celebrating her 50th birthday next week.  I couldn’t think of anything else to give her so might as well give her a highly recommended book.  Lastly, I am hoping to get some maternity clothes while at the mall too as I am getting bigger each day, I swear.

Last minute school stuff.

Did some last minute shopping for Sophia’s stuff today at the mall. Was able to get her a placemat for school, some towels, and a few more white socks. I was planning on getting socks for her from Marks and Spencer in HK but since we canceled our trip last June 9 for August, I had to get her a few pairs to use in the meantime. I also got yaya three pairs of uniform as she’ll also be out everyday now with the little girl so she needs more. While at the mall, I happen to pass by a stall selling what they claim to be the best acne treatment there is. I wonder if they really work but with the looks of it, there were a few who were buying the product so it must be good. I am so thankful I don’t need any as I never had acne problems to date. I hope it remains that way.

Two more nights and the little girl is off to regular schooling. Gosh…

Search for the perfect running shoes.

The husband is dead serious with this healthy lifestyle thing after he was diagnosed to have high cholesterol and is put into Lipitor right now by his doctor. He promised himself to take extra good care of his body now and live as healthy as possible. Part of his new routine is having daily exercise – jogging every morning.

Yesterday, I saw him take out all his jogging pants and his pair of running shoes. The Adidas shoes he have had now for years have seen better days though so I told him to get new ones. I told him about the Nike Plus Running Shoe I have seen over at Shopwiki and he seemed to like them. I told him to read up on the running shoe top picks first though before deciding on ordering one so he can be sure he is getting the best. After all, he is sure to put them into good use as his health is at stake so never mind the few more dollars to spend as long as the shoe is worth it. I also pointed that he read the buying guide for that perfect fit.

I wonder which running shoe he decided to get after reading up on the very helpful articles. Wasn’t able to ask him. All I know is he ordered one already. Let’s just see when they get here.

Stroller talk.

While Jon was drooling at Hublot big bang watches over the net last night, I on the otherhand, was busy checking out the prams at Quinny.  Although I would love to get a Bugaboo for our upcoming baby, with the price tag of almost a thousand dollars for a stroller alone, I’ll pass. Instead, I’ll probably settle with this five hundred dollar Quinny Buzz which is still as good, I hope.
