Don’t ever be busy.

The other day while I was busy reading lipozene reviews online, my daughter got my cellphone and started sending text messages to the husband. Here’s how their exchange of messages went:

Sophia: daddyhowareyouimissyoudoyoumissme

(Yes, my daughter doesn’t know how to use the space key, haha. And I never bother teaching her. I want her to figure it out herself.)

Daddy: Yes I miss you. I love you, mwah.

Sophia: iloveyoutooilikeyourmwahtextwhereareyou

Daddy: I’m still working. I’m busy.

Sophia: hidaddydontbebusy

And then by this time, the daddy must have been really busy and didn’t get to text back so the little girl sent thisĀ  …

Sophia: hidaddyhowcomeyoudidnttextyet

No reply from the dad still so the little girl tried to call out of frustration maybe. No answer.

Sophia: hidaddyanswermycall

Sophia:hidaddynevereverbebusyanddolovemeandyourfamily

And the text messages ended there. The daddy called and they talked. The little girl kept saying, “I should be more important than any meeting, okay?” HAHAHA. CUUTEEEEE diba????

A Taste of Fun Ranch

… for the little guy. It was his first time and he was very cautious at first. Didn’t want to walk around and touch anything but he eventually settled in and in no time was all over the place like his achie. They spent a good one hour in the playhouse while I was busy searching the net for an online shop where I can buy differin for my recent acne breakout. This is the very reason why I hate summer. I start having bad breakouts because of the heat. :( Ugly ugly sight!

Anyway, here are some photos I manage to take. They aren’t a lot and of good quality too, sorry. It was very hard to make the two look at the camera at the same time. It was frustrating!

Meet my Kids.

Photo taken the exact day my eldest turned 5. This was before we leave the house for Fun Ranch. :)

Lets talk about Sophia first -

She has matured tremendously. She can read a book by herself and even write short stories too in her diary. Lately, she has grown tired of Cinderella and Hannah Montana while her obsession for Tiana of The Princess and The Frog grows deeper and deeper by the day. Simply looking at her, you’d think she’s 7yo or even an 8yo as she’s very tall and has lost the baby fats already. In no time I’m sure she’d be all grown up and would even be needing the best acne treatment there is when she starts to have breakouts. We all went through that stage, right? Or did you not? I did.

For summer, I’m thinking of enrolling her to Trumpets Playshop Children’s Theater and some art classes too as per her request. Ballet is on our list also. Called Casa Musica also for possible violin lessons but I was told to wait another year. So you see, her summer will be full of activities that she won’t have time to get bored, I hope.

On to Mateo -

At one year and almost four months, he has mastered the art of walking and running. And was I worried before of him not walking? Duh. Although I still have to understand what he’s saying aside from mama, daddy and achie, I am not worried – yet. :D He’s still a thumb sucker and so far, he’s been a very happy baby still. He eats about almost anything we give him and oh are we pleased. Hopefully he won’t grow up to be a picky eater like his achie. We rarely take him out but since he’s already past 1yo, I vow to let him go out with us more often now.

He’s starting playschool this summer at Toddlers Unlimited. Same school we sent his achie to before. I am excited of course. I can’t wait to see how he learns to socialize and be with other kids his age.

So there. My kids. My pride and joy.

My Hula Dancer

Before booking the husband a hotel in Brisbane where he could get me my personalized lip balm, let me share with you my pride and joy – Sophia, my hula dancer. :)

my 5 year old

To those who know her well, she isn’t really much of a dancer but she tries – hard enough. :D And during their last performance in school, she proved that practice makes perfect and I was one proud mommy of course. You see, we would both practice her dance steps at home almost every day with her costume on. She loved her costume as much as she personally chose the pink grass skirt weeks before the performance day.

I feel bad though that I don’t have a decent photo of her dancing except the one below but I do have everything on video of course. And to this day, Sophia and I watches it everyday. :)

Sophia’s 5th Birthday Party

We skipped the big party for this year. Instead, our little girl celebrated her 5th birthday in school with her classmates and it was as much fun sans the big budget. :D

The Princess and the Frog is her thing now so no contest, it was her party theme. Here’s her mini Princess and the Frog cake.

And the cupcakes.

As to what to give her classmates for a token, I was thinking of having storage boxes made but due to time restraints, I opted to get these frog coin banks instead. I just filled them with assorted chocolates, lollies and candies.

Here are pictures during the very short school party. I wish I had more photos to share but my laptop is acting up. Will try to upload later at my Acer Aspire and share some more photos at flickr. Anyway, even if the party was short, it was more than enough. The little girl had her two minute of glory and she was more than happy. :)

Our little boy made a special appearance at his achi’s party by the way. It was a special request by non other than the birthday celebrant. So Mat-Mat was there, look!

For teacher.

My little girl threw a tantrum on the way to school the other day. Why? Because of this …

sophia's artworksophia's artwork

She did this artwork for her teacher before going to bed while waiting for me reading up on the extended service plan my aunt is getting at Good Sam. The next day, she left it at home. She only got to remember about it when we were a few minutes away from her school. She suddenly bawled and cried like a cow! She wanted to go back and get it but I told her it was too late already. She bawled some more.

Isn’t she sweet?

Father’s Day.

Sophia’s school yearly celebrates Father’s Day on the first month of the year. For two consecutive years now, Jon and Sophia belong to the Red Team, this year – The Red Team Bagets. The event is always fun- kids get to play games with their dads, dads get to compete with other dads and moms get to mingle and cheer for their father and daughter team.

Let me share some photos.

While lining up for the parade. The dad looks so unexcited, haha!

There were a number of booths present – gold’s gym (which I didn’t bother to check as I’m hoping strivectin will do wonders for me), memory charms, face painting booth and some real estate booths to name a few.

And then the games.
That’s Jon and Sophia doing their thing.
