Linggo ng Wika.

I was in Sophia’s school for their “Linggo ng Wika” program this morning where students paraded with their Filipiniana costume when I got a call from Jon’s travel agent telling me of some minor changes on Jon’s booking for his Macau trip next month. She also asked if I was interested as she has great travel deals that she wanted to offer us. No thanks please. I’m VERY pregnant now you know. Tummy is getting bigger and heavier by the day. :)

Anyway, back to Sophia’s school program, as I was saying, they were asked to come in costume today. And here is my little girl in her Filipiniana dress with matching “bakya” in what color but PINK of course as she so specified.

Yayas were not allowed inside the school premises so you could just imagine, I was taking all these photos while recording the goings-on on the video camera too. Harassed mommy! Yeah, the husband wasn’t with us. :(

Will post more pictures here.

What happened to Sophia’s Talent Show?

Well, she performed all on her own and I am one proud mommy. She sang “So Much More Than A Dream” infront of her classmates, teachers and a few parents wearing her all time favorite Cinderella costume. She did not show any trace of shyness or stage fright you know and it seems that it was me who was so worried all along. Why? When I was about to take a photo of her singing on stage, wala pala ang memory card na cam ko!!! Serious!

Goodness, I left it on my laptop memory slot! Kainis!

I do have a video of her singing but how can I not check the memory card of my digital camera?!?!?!?! Why oh why!!!!!!!!!

Weekend Recap.

Friday

Sophia’s Talent Show in school was postponed. They watched a group of Bayanihan Dancers instead in preparation for their Linggo ng Wika which started yesterday.

Saturday

Yaya went on a sudden day off as her mom who takes care of her baby is sick. So Jon didn’t go to the farm and took care of the little girl which is his usual duty when the yaya is off. Oh, I just love being pregnant LOL! We decided to let Sophia get a haircut so we went to ATC before lunch time. Sophia now sports a shorter hair which I think suits her. :) I don’t have pics to show though as I left my camera at home. We then went to Bio Research in Paranaque to buy salt water for Sophia’s aquarium after eating lunch at Gloria Maris. Sophia was ecstatic to see so many aquariums and fishes. Boy oh boy, this was a filed trip destination pala as we were with some kids from Don Bosco touring the premises. This is where Jon bought Nemo (clownfish) by the way.

Sunday

My family from Pampanga came to visit and we trooped to Tagaytay Highlands. Good thing the weather cooperated so everybody had fun. Sophia and my brothers went fishing, horseback riding and bowling. My brothers also rode the go karts while me, my mom and my sister spent the day eating and talking about their upcoming Las Vegas travel next month. When the kids were done, Sophia insisted on riding the funicular so we obliged. We were able to catch the last funicular trip at 6:00pm. Then, we were off – home. We had dinner at Paseo de Sta. Rosa by the way which has got so many new restos right now. There’s Kanin Club, Poquito Mas, Razon’s, Cabalen to name a few I have noticed but they have got many many more I swear. Again, I have no pics to show as my camera had no battery. Bummer! My sister took pics though so I’ll ask her to email some to me.

Monday

Rest Day, which we (more of I) badly need.

****my internet connection sucks so bad lately. there are a couple of sites i can’t access too like other MBAPs’ blogs and even some of my own… i wonder why.****

Pressure never ends.

Sophia’s long paper game aka exams are done, thank gawd! After two afternoons of cramming (reviewing), finally I can relax now.

Or so I thought.

Tomorrow, Nursery students in Sophia’s school are having a talent show. Each student is asked to perform anything, be it a dance or song number, poem recital, painting etc. They are encouraged to wear costumes too. Ayan, panibagong pressure.

Figuring out what my little girl will do is a no-brainer. You see, she can’t dance, at all. I’m not exaggerating but she really can’t dance. :D So you guessed it right, Sophia will render a song. What song you may ask? Her all time favorite – So much More Than A Dream from the Cinderella 3 movie. She loves this song to bits and she knows it by heart. I’ll make her wear the Cinderella gown she wore during my cousin’s birthday and I guess we’re all set.

Yesterday though, I was desperate and buzzed people over at YM for help on looking for a So Much More Than A Dream Audio over the net available for downloading as I don’t know how to use limewire and even if I did, according to Abie, the song wasn’t available there. I have long been wanting to buy the Cinderella 3 soundtrack but after going to every music store, I was told that it was pulled out from the market as there was a change in the producing company or something like that. So you see, we never had a cd of this song. Sophia would only hear it while watching her Cinderella 3 DVD. So how can she sing it if we didn’t have a cd right? Thank you so much to the people who tried to help me and sorry also for bothering all of you. You know who you are. :)

At the end, thanks to my good friend’s husband, Bishop for making it possible. Heaven sent! He was able to download a video from YouTube and converted it to an MP3 and sent the file to me over at YM without a fuss. Ang galing! Thank you thank you.

Now all we need to do is practice. Naku, wish us luck!

Pressured Mommy!

That’s what I am.

You see, as you all know, we just arrived from HK and so the little girl was absent from school for a week. Yes, bad mommy here. :D Then, yesterday, I took Sophia to school and I just had the shock of my life finding out that they are having a “LONG PAPER GAME” aka their Reading Exam! Oh my! They also sent me the worksheets she missed and goodness, there were 20 pages!!!! And to top it off, these worksheets are part of the exam! Shucks…. May ganun pala sa NURSERY?!?!?!?!

So imagine my frustration.

We spent the whole afternoon yesterday reviewing. Good thing, the little girl was very cooperative naman. Oh, I hope she does well and remembers the stuff we reviewed. Pretty please! And now, I’ve learned my lesson too. I should first check her school schedule before I book a trip!

Tomorrow, its Math Exam so today will again be a busy day! Gosh, I think I need a wrinkle cream this early!

Lesson learned?

I hope so!

Can you see the black and blue spot on her upper right cheek?

booboo.jpg

The little girl came home yesterday with a surprise for me. May black eye siya!  Apparently, she was running to her line when she hit/collided with her other classmate. Hence, the booboo.  Its not obvious in the picture but when you see it for real, its huge! I actually got a call from her teacher right after class so even before she came home I knew about the accident already.

This is actually the third time she went home with an incident report – my second time to get a call from her teacher and the third time for the little girl to come home with a booboo.  This last one is the major one though but remember, she has only been to school for a month!  Obviously, malikot ang anak ko as in!

First incident, she fell off the swing.  She vowed though not to go on the swing anymore – ever, which is good!

Second incident, she hit her face on the door. She vowed to be careful next time. Great.

And now, the accident I wrote above.  She promised to not run while in the classroom and in school.  I hope so!

Hay, sana nga she learned her lesson na!!!

GPS Tracking.

Being a first time mom, I can’t help but worry a lot about my daughter’s safety now that she goes to school everyday. I’m not used to not having her by my side all the time so her attending big school is one big adjustment for me. With the rampant kidnappings from where we are, and my husband being a victim himself of attempted kidnapping years ago, every time my daughter leaves for school, I can’t help but be really worried. And even if I know I can trust the driver who takes her to school, one will never know, right?

Now, to put my worries to rest, my husband suggested we should get GPS Tracking. I thought it was a great idea. GPS Tracking will not only give me that much needed peace of mind by keeping a closer eye on my beloved three year old daughter but will also in a way ensure her safety as I can closely monitor and keep track of her all the time. We should have thought of getting GPS Tracking sooner. I wonder why we haven’t until now. Now that I think of it, the husband should get one too don’t you think?
