Party’s over!

Our little girl is four (in a few days) while our little boy is now a Christian – finally.

Party’s finally over. After everything – Mateo’s UTI ordeal and being circumcised four days before the party, event went well and preparation was well worthit.  Guests – both adults and kids had fun.  Mommy had aching feet after though. LOL!

Thanks to everyone who came. :)

In a few months,  I’ll be back to party planning again for Mateo’s 1st birthday. Hay, ang bilis. I bet November na before I even know it which spells expenses again. I hope my financier is up for the challenge. :D

I missed my online life. Haven’t been online for a looong time and now I’ve got so much to do! First off is to look for discount lighting, ugh!

Updating ….

I haven’t been good at updating all of you with what has been going on with our little family lately so I’m hoping this post could somewhat make up for it.  Here it goes …

Just when I thought we’re over with the sickies in the house, now its the little girl’s turn. She has been running a fever since last night and the paranoid mommy that I am can’t stop worrying. Who can blame me? After my five year old cousin’s bout with dengue last December, I now dread even a simple fever. I hope she gets better asap. As of typing this though, her temperature is down to 37.8.

I haven’t blogged about Mateo diagnosed to have UTI some two weeks ago, have I? Well, I was worried stiff I tell you as I have learned that UTI in children is something serious and doesn’t stop at just having urinalysis and urine cultures. Well, we and my pedia wanted to be on the safe side of course so we were referred to a urologist after the little boy was cleared from UTI after taking antibiotics for a week. That’s the time I found out that an ultrasound needs to be done and a procedure called VCUG where there’s a catheter involved and xrays. Thinking about the procedure made me sleepless for days as it sounded so complicated while it was being explained to me but apparently it was fast and simple. I’m just really glad Mateo’s UTI ordeal is now over and his VCUG result was a-okay. He has no reflux. If he happens to have one, he would need to maintain a low dose antibiotics everyday or worst undergo a surgery would you believe? Hay, thank God wala. However, he is advised to undergo circumcision. So by next week, on the 13th maybe, we’ll have our little boy circumcised na which now makes me one busy mommy. I plan to finish all party related stuff before the 13 as I don’t think I can take it to leave Mateo at home with just the yaya to look after him after his circumcision. So far, my things to do are:

~ finalize cake design
~ deposits payments to all my suppliers
~ buy prizes
~ shop for our outfits
~ food tasting at C3 and pay the full amount already
~ finalize table centerpiece designs
~ and something not party related, finish all my online assignments starting with a certain linear motion task

Hope I can do all these in less than a week! Oh, I just remembered, I also need to have my treadmill test completed by Sunday as part of my executive check up. Whew!

By the way, I just need to say that I can’t believe how a fairly nice (read decent) party would cost these days! Grabe!  Sophia’s 1st birthday party sometime in 2006 is panis! Cost wise ha … Susme. Jon is close to having a heart attack with the expenses.  Me too! And to think the money isn’t coming from my own pocket, haha!

Little Updates…

are all I can afford for now as I still can’t browse the net using my laptop. Hence, I can’t blog that much too and so as much as I want to reply to all your comments, I can’t. I’m using my desktop now and I am pressed for time. I just need to check mails from time to time and I’m always in hurry. Hay naku.

Anyway, got loads of update. Finalized na the theme for the party. We are giving in. After all, its our daughter’s party and I can’t take that away from her – choosing the theme that is. You see, when we were at my party organizer’s office, she changed her mind about the ballerina party and wanted Nemo again. So I said, be it. She’ll be happy the most with a Nemo theme party I bet and as a parent, that’s what I want so I am giving it to her. :)

I’m getting pretty excited with the party. Can’t wait! I hope my new found party organizer will deliver. Based from the lay-out they gave me for the decor, its going to be really nice. *crossfingers*

~~~
My little boy is starting to sleep through the night, yahoo!!!! At six weeks, he sleeps at 9:30pm and wakes up to feed at around 2am. Wakes up at 6am then to feed again. Oh, I didn’t expect it to be this easy if you know what I mean. He has grown terribly big too by the way. Will post a pic of him soon. He’s such a cutie (this is my blog so I can say what I want) and so puti!
~~~

I am addicted to online shopping and Royce Chocolates lately and I need to stop – pronto! Last Tuesday, went to Powerplant Mall with Sophia (we were on a date, just the two of us) to look for some discount furniture I can score but instead I got 6 boxes of Nama chocolates before leaving. Race kami ni Jon sa pagkain when I got home, bwahaha. I swear, I’m so fat now. Need to lose weight in time for the party!

~~~
That’s it for now. Need to give the little boy a bath. He just woke up!
A Ballerina Party?
Two months before Sophia’s 4th Birthday and Mateo’s Baptism Party, we haven’t finalized the theme yet. I know I said we’re having a Nemo Party as per the little girl’s request but you see, the dad including all the party organizers I talked to doesn’t really love the idea. They find the theme a bit odd for a 4 year old and a little girl at that. Hmm, now I’m also having second thoughts about it.
So as a result, for days now we have been trying to talk to the little girl about having a different party theme instead. I have tried bribing her too but to no avail. The dad had a brilliant idea however. He suggested that we just give the little girl a small Nemo Party in school while she gets to have a different party theme on her real party at C3 Events Place. Now I think this is going to work. (I hope!) Why didn’t I think of that? Maybe because I thought that the dad won’t agree to another party as we are already having one that requires quite a big budget but apparently he is up for it. Wow! I wonder what he ate, LOL!
So now I am searching the net high and low for a nice theme for Sophia’s 4th Birthday Party. I want something really girly. No High School Musical and Hannah Montana though as Sophia barely knows them. You may find that odd and I swear I do too but what can a mother do? She really isn’t inclined to singing and dancing. She loves ballet though lately as she has ballet books such as Angelina Ballerina and I’m thinking maybe she can have a Ballerina Party? The dad thinks its a nice idea but I don’t know yet. I wonder if I can pull that off so I’m still looking for other theme alternatives. The thought of Sophia in a Ballerina Princess costume though is such a delight and I’m sure she’ll love it and will look good in it too as she wears her leotards and tutu almost everyday at home. Getting her a Ballerina Princess costume won’t be a problem too I think because I’ll just check my favorite online store that sells different costumes either for Halloween and Kiddie Parties. They happen to have the nicest bunny costumes I’ve ever seen too. Not that I need one now but if ever I will need one in the future I know where to get such already. You should try them too for your costume needs.
Anyway, back to the party, any suggestions of better party themes? Let me know and I’ll be so happy and grateful of course. I can’t seem to think of any right now as my mind is so blank for some reasons. Hay, the clock is ticking. I need to finalize things now as I’ll be meeting with the invites supplier in a week or so.
Here’s Sophia pretending to be a ballerina by the way. You think a ballerina party suits her?
Bonding Time.
Its bonding time for Jon and the little girl today as Sophia’s yaya is on a day-off so it was the husband who took the princess to school sans the driver. He’ll also be the one to pick her up of course after three hours and then they’ll be off to Manila to settle some stuff and have lunch. Isn’t that sweet?  I just hope the husband can stand the little girl and vice versa. LOL.  I hope too that dear husband can make Sophia eat lunch. That I will find out when they get home this afternoon.  :)
As for me, all I asked was for them to bring home Paella Negra from Las  Paellas. Yummy! Can’t wait. :)
By the way, tomorrow, it’ll be my time off. Its my check up and then I’ll head on over to the salon and the mall to buy our “babies” gifts for our Christmas Party on Saturday here at home.  I’m sure it’ll be a blast again just like last year and the year before, and the year before that.  Food this year is courtesy of CCME, thanks to MBAPs for introducing them to me during our MBAP Party.  Food from them is so sulit for the price.  :)
I’ll try to work on my very short and uneventful birthing story after this post. Hope Mateo won’t wake up anytime soon. I wish!
My take on the MBAP Party.
To say that I had so much fun during the MBAP Christmas / Shower Party is already an understatement. Just by looking at the pics, specially those at Kelly’s site where she very well narrated what transpired during the White Elephant Game, its so obvious that I really enjoyed the meet up with these fabulous ladies.
It really was a super fun day. The caterer arrived around ten minutes past two and I was still wearing my “daster”. Yes, Aggie, I wear “daster” these days as I am 8 months pregnant and I feel so comfortable in them. Ten minutes after, still in my so unglamorous outfit, my helper told me there was already somebody downstairs! What? Excited! Ang aga! Haha. Party doesn’t start until 3:30 pm. Peace, Mich. :D Apparently, Mich (and her family) thought it was traffic so they left home early. So there, I was in a hurry to dress up and I woke Sophia up from her nap too. After a while, the ladies with their respective entourage (naks!) started arriving – Jody, Thea, Peachy, Apple, Jacqui and Kelly. Abie and Joy came a little late though. I think we started eating before they came. The food from CCME was good for the price we paid. And as Joy said in her other post, she immediately grabbed a plate when they arrived as I am known to have a big appetite. Baka maubusan sila, haha. Jon arrived a few minutes later and finally the MBAPs got to meet my dear husband. And as Jacqui and Joy said, hindi pala siya figure ng aking imagination, LOL. If you know my husband, he really is a very shy person which is why meet ups like these are a big deal to him. Good thing I was able to convince him to join us but looking back now, may bago sana akong LV if I made him not come, bwahahahaha. But guess what, he ended up having fun too that he even asked the boys to have one beer for the road. O diba? Buti na lang tinabihan ni Gelo at dinaldalan so he started warming up. :D
The games followed and I must say, I want another White Elephant Game!!! No need to write about what transpired during this game as Kelly wrote it in details. Love love your post, girl! Diba, ang saya? Here are some pics I grabbed.
There was also a game for mommies and daddies prepared by Jody. The daddies were so game to play just look at all of them here in this pic.
img_8157.jpg
The MBAPs also gave the preggy moms (peachy, mich and me) nursing bibs which I hope I’ll be able to put to use. Look at me in the pic, parang mas type ko yung napunta kay Peachy, bwahahahahahaha. Joke!
We ended the night with chikahan – daddies and mommies alike. The mommies were inside the house while the daddies were outside enjoying their one bottle of beer. It was really such a fun event and hopefully we can do it again soon.
The kids if you are wondering by the way were all over the place – garden I mean. Running around, playing and having the time of their life. Just look at their pics…
Okay, this post has been long. Now I need to look for bar stools online.
So happy!
Miracles indeed do happen. Haha. This is so shallow but I’m so happy. It’s meant to be, LOL.
You see, as I have previously blogged, my first choice of venue for the joint celebration of Sophia’s 4th Birthday and Baby Bullet’s Baptism is already not available for my chosen date when I inquired (and so is every Saturday and Sunday of the month of February and March). Such actually dampened my party spirit for a while so I stopped planning for the party. Just yesterday though, for some reason, I called the venue again just to check for the last time before I book another place and voila, March 8 slot is now open! I asked them if they were sure and they said yes as apparently, the one who booked the said date moved their event a month later. So now I am giddy happy and so back to being excited for the party again. :D
Catch is I need to pay the venue rental and the security bond this Friday in full already as I only have a week to confirm my reservation and they have a pending 25% price increase. Nevertheless, happy happy happy mommy here. :D
