Looking for Dining Room Chairs.

We need a new set of Dining Room Chairs. Our old one had been battered you see since we have a very active three year old in the house. Two of the chairs have pen marks all over while another two has loose stitches. Okay, the husband thinks my reasons for getting a new set of Dining Room Chairs are pathetic but the thing is, I badly need them replaced as I have grown tired of having them honestly speaking. LOL! I’m happy I was able to convince the husband.

Since last night, I have been searching the web for really nice Dining Room Chair replacement and I came across a very nice site for my Dining Room Chairs needs - www.spacify.com. They have modern contemporary furnitures perfect for our modern inspired house. I also found the perfect Dining Room Chairs in this site. Here are they.

I’ll show them to the husband when he comes home later so we can order the soonest possible time. The site has got really nice Dining Room Furniture too but I wonder if the husband will agree to get anything. Maybe next time.

Empire Today Carpets.

As I have been researching about the pros and cons of having a floor carpet installed at home, I came across Empire Today, a leading provider of installed Home Furnishings and Home Improvements for more than 45 years now. They provide each home with carpet, hardwood flooring, laminate flooring, ceramic flooring, window treatments and bath and shower liners.

You see, with a coming baby, I have been contemplating on having carpeted floor for our rooms as I believe having such is safer for small babies.  Falling accidents can happen anytime and I want to be prepared. For my first born, we had rubber mats installed but they didn’t last long and they were also a pain to clean.  However, some say that carpeted floor is bad for asthma and although we have no history of asthma so far, I wouldn’t want to neglect such scenario so I am reading up on how carpets are and are not good. And then I came across Empire Today.

Sophia’s room.

Below is Sophia’s room finally equipped with a 32inch Panasonic LCD TV but sans a home theater system as we felt that she need not have one. After all, she’s just a three year old kid anyway. Agree?

Here’s her cabinet of toys and books with a built in study table.

Mattress, pillows and linens - the good stuff!

I have never been in my best mood to decorate our house, well, our bedroom specifically, than now. Jon had just mounted the 42 inch plasma TV on the wall last week and installed the home theater with matching blue ray dvd player yesterday. Now, all electronic stuff we need are provided for so next on my list is purchase furnishings and decor for our masters bedroom.

Our bed is still good and I have no plans of replacing it, ever. But the mattress has to go. I need a new mattress. This time, I am willing to invest in a good quality mattress that can help me have that good night sleep all the time. I am hoping to find a mattress buying guide over the net so I can familiarize myself with the different kinds of mattresses available for me and which one I need that best fits my needs.

Then, I also need to get Bed Pillows or those Therapeutic Pillows that are very popular these days. I am sure they are worth the price. And since I am pregnant, I might as well get myself a pregnancy pillow to ease the discomfort my growing tummy brings. After all, we can never have too much pillows, can we? If you are like me, I need to have atleast 3 pillows with me when I sleep. Lastly, lets shop for bed linens! We can never have enough of these too, right? I always stay on the safe side though, I make it a point to get light colored linens if not white like this gorgeous Egyptian Cotton Italian Bed Linens I found. Oh, I can’t wait! Our bedroom will look and feel like heaven soon!

All steel.

We have a very modern house. Since my husband and I had it built while we were in our early twenties, it couldn’t be any more modern and hip as it is. Blame it on our very young and fresh ideas, I guess. People who come visit us would never fail to notice this. You won’t even probably guess that we have a three year old in the house and another one coming when you look at our house. It’s quite masculine as some would put it as we used a lot of stainless steel like on the stair railings, balcony railings and kitchen appliances but we like it this way and we are very happy with it. You’ll see that our bathrooms are stuffed with stainless steel too from Blomus Stainless Steel Wall Hook, Blomus Stainless Steel Soap Dispenser and Blomus Stainless Steel Toilet Paper Holder. Right now, I am planning to get more stainless stuff as I have personally proven their durability such as a couple of Blomus Stainless Steel Vases to put around the house and some Blomus Stainless Steel Picture Frames.

Last night, I have discovered The Stainless Steel Store over the net while I was surfing so looks like our stainless steel collection will grow each day. They have got really nice stuff at affordable prices too. I bet I won’t be able to contain myself and order really soon.

Our afternoons…

are spent in the garden goofing around, playing, eating and what-have-you’s. Opps, and walking the dogs too! Sophia owns a chihuahua that she loves to bits while the husband now owns a Mini Bull Terrier. This dog looks like a pig I’m telling you which is why we named him Porky, LOL! I will post a photo of him soon.

**The husband’s fascination over his show quality Labrador faded early and decided to send the dog to his mom’s place. The dog was big kasi.

Anyway, here’s the little girl with her dad one lazy afternoon.

What’s left.

After three big balikbayan boxes full of toys, four extra large garbage plastic bags of more toys and one big car, two baby bicycles and two trolley toys neatly kept in the storage room, here is what’s left with Sophia’s toys in her playroom.

It was hard convincing the little girl that some (most of them actually, LOL) toys have to go but I am so relieved we managed to make her agree. I’m happy with the few toys left as they are manageable, I think. So her playroom is pretty much as is except for a change in door hardware.

My planters.

Thanks to typhoon Frank, all the outdoor planters I have managed to collect all these years are now broken. Same goes with the few window planters I have. They are no high-end planters but I value them so much as I personally chose them and have come to grow with me with the three years we have been staying here in this house.

Oh well, nothing much I can do as I should even be thankful that nothing worst happened during the typhoon who hit us really bad. So for me not to feel bad, I am now looking for some decorative planters over the net to replace my old planters. I saw some really nice ones and I am now starting to feel happy. I love decorating our garden so seeing it with nice garden planters is a must. I also saw one window box planter that will perfectly fit our window so I might get it too. I hope they don’t cost a fortune though. On a second thought, even if they will, I will have to ask the husband to pay for them! I want my nice garden back, badly.

Just when you need it.

Don’t you just hate it when the moment you need a flashlight, which is once in a blue moon I must say, it suddenly runs out of batteries? Ugh! Such thing happen to me all the time. With a little girl who loves to play with anything at home, batteries don’t last long in our household. It’s either she had been playing with the flashlight or took out its batteries to put in her other toys. What can a mother do? Flashlights are a staple in every home as we’ll never know when we will need them.

I found a better alternative though - shake flashlight. This amazing Shake LED Flashlight requires no batteries or wires, just shake to power! Shake for one minute and you’ll get 30 minutes of continuous bright light from this LED flashlight. Isn’t that great? I bet it is so I am grabbing one so I won’t have to worry of empty or lost batteries anymore.

Rejected.

Sophia’s Sleeping Beauty Bedroom Furniture Set arrived today as expected. Bad thing though, I had to reject the cabinet/dresser and the full body mirror as both have scratches. For the price I was paying for them, a minor scratch is not acceptable so I had them replaced. I still have to wait until next week for the new items though but I’d rather wait, no problem about that.

So far, Sophia is loving the bed, the cabinet with desk/study table and the chair. I am so happy with my choice. :)
