Father’s Day.

Sophia’s school yearly celebrates Father’s Day on the first month of the year. For two consecutive years now, Jon and Sophia belong to the Red Team, this year – The Red Team Bagets. The event is always fun- kids get to play games with their dads, dads get to compete with other dads and moms get to mingle and cheer for their father and daughter team.

Let me share some photos.

There were a number of booths present – gold’s gym (which I didn’t bother to check as I’m hoping strivectin will do wonders for me), memory charms, face painting booth and some real estate booths to name a few.

First Encounter.

Mateo’s first ever encounter with a mascot was during his achie’s Father’s Day celebration in school. Unlike other toddlers, he didn’t get scared with the sight of a giant fluffy walking thing infront of him. He was very eager to touch and was very curious. Just look at him …

I am sorting out the tons of photos on my laptop and I saw this photo. Hence the post. I am slowly starting to clear my to do list one by one and I’m so proud. This sorting out of photos is the longest to do. I have hundreds that’s why. I hope by tomorrow I’ll be done so I can move to my next task. But before that, I have to check out about the colon cleansing pills my cousin is recommending for my mom. Gotta do that first – my note to self.

He’s finally walking!

At 1 year 2 and a half months, the little guy finally had the courage to take his first steps unassisted. The next thing we knew, on the second day I think, he was already running and is all over the place, haha! Happy happy mommy here.

Here’s our little rascal.

Now I am off to the mall to get him walking shoes. I’m obviously an excited mommy can you tell? Dropping by the drugstore too to get some prenatal vitamins to give away in the Medical Mission my cousin in organizing in my mom’s hometown for my uncle’s candidacy. My own little way of helping the campaign. Later!

One day after canvassing for ipods, I finally found the perfect swing seat for the little guy. Been looking for one for ages and its always unavailable or out of stock. Was even tempted to purchase the one I saw in Guam but a bit bulky so decided otherwise. Anyway, here look at the little guy enjoying it very much. His smile is priceless, don’t you just agree?

Day 3 was Disneyland Day. We checked in at Disney Hollywood Hotel this time. And as always, Sophia was ecstatic as soon as we got inside the hotel. Everything was very “Mickey”.

She loved the Mickey figure that she kept posing and posing.

And then we joined. Mateo kept giggling just looking at the Mickey Mouse figure.

They just can’t get enough!

She’s almost 5!

In less than two months, our princess will turn a year older. Its so hard to believe she’ll be 5! I find myself saying the famous line again – how time flies! And true enough, it really does. She definitely is a baby no more. Well, physically, she looks like a 7 year old I know since she’s quite tall for her age and has lost all her baby fats already. But in my heart she’ll forever be my first born baby I – took care of 24/7, sent to every play class there was for her age, took to all my travels, religiously took and picked up from school every single day (before I had Mateo) and tell stories to nightly before sleeping with no exemptions (even if I still have tons of work to do like read up on sybervision weight loss product reviews). Yes, I just had to say those. For some reason it makes me feel good as a mom.

At 5, I wish she get to be more independent and continue being healthy. There is nothing more I could ask for aside from those two right now. She is far from perfect but she’s the perfect daughter for me.

Gifts Opening.

As soon as we got home from Tayma’s (Jon’s lola) house for our Christmas Eve dinner, we made the kids open their gifts from Santa. Other presents were opened the next day before we leave for Pampanga. Sophia had all the stuff on her wishlist of course and needless to say, she was ecstatic! Here are photos of the kids in their pjs opening their gifts.

As for me, I guess I’ve been good all year round too as Santa granted my wish also! A home insurance finally! I’ve been wanting to get one for the longest time now. How about you guys? What did Santa drop off on Christmas Eve?

Farm Visit.

Sometime last month, Jon took Sophia and I to his new farm – Creekview Stock Breeding Farm. Still a work in progress but there was a surprise for the little girl that got her so excited (and me too!) You see, Sophia has this fascination over tree houses so the daddy had one made just for her. It still wasn’t one hundred percent done by the time we were there but it didn’t matter, the simple the better, no Minka lighting needed actually. The little girl was ecstatic! Now she has every reason to go to the farm with daddy every chance she gets.

On Homeschooling?

Have you ever considered homeschooling your children? Learning outside of the public or private school environment has been getting the raves lately and I got curious myself which is why I’ve been doing a lot of reading on it as some friends are into it. As I read, all the more I got interested with the homeschooling curriculum as it looks very promising. As being claimed nowadays, online education not only assures high quality education for our children but also is a great way to cut education costs. Something that we all need in these hard times. I assume this is why a lot of parents have been considering it for their children, if not doing it already.

For moms like me who don’t have a regular day job to begin with, homeschooling is a perfect fit. Essentially, homeschooling involves a commitment by a parent or guardian to oversee their child’s educational development. Time and effort are required and as parents, we are just too willing to give those for our kids, right?

I tried to research further and saw a curriculum online which apparently is very easy to follow and very detailed compared to others. Now, if I will be giving homeschooling a try, I’d definitely know where to go.

This is the scene every afternoon in our house – the kids playing at our mini playground. We all can’t wait until the little boy is big enough to walk and run around with his achie. I bet it will be a riot – a happy one at that.

Simply looking at them is bliss. People who don’t have kids yet won’t probably understand but those that do I’m sure can relate. Kids are every parent’s everything. Agree?

I’m getting all mushy here and I don’t know why. Lack of sleep, maybe? Haha. The little boy has colds again so he hasn’t been sleeping well at night. So you see, been awake most nights lately which is why I got to blog a little and was even able to check out Titan luggage. Downside is, I think I’m going to get sick now. Ugh!
