The other day while I was busy reading lipozene reviews online, my daughter got my cellphone and started sending text messages to the husband. Here’s how their exchange of messages went:

Sophia: daddyhowareyouimissyoudoyoumissme

(Yes, my daughter doesn’t know how to use the space key, haha. And I never bother teaching her. I want her to figure it out herself.)

Daddy: Yes I miss you. I love you, mwah.

Sophia: iloveyoutooilikeyourmwahtextwhereareyou

Daddy: I’m still working. I’m busy.

Sophia: hidaddydontbebusy

And then by this time, the daddy must have been really busy and didn’t get to text back so the little girl sent this …

Sophia: hidaddyhowcomeyoudidnttextyet

No reply from the dad still so the little girl tried to call out of frustration maybe. No answer.

Sophia: hidaddyanswermycall

Sophia:hidaddynevereverbebusyanddolovemeandyourfamily

And the text messages ended there. The daddy called and they talked. The little girl kept saying, “I should be more important than any meeting, okay?” HAHAHA. CUUTEEEEE diba????

Photo taken the exact day my eldest turned 5. This was before we leave the house for Fun Ranch.

Lets talk about Sophia first -

She has matured tremendously. She can read a book by herself and even write short stories too in her diary. Lately, she has grown tired of Cinderella and Hannah Montana while her obsession for Tiana of The Princess and The Frog grows deeper and deeper by the day. Simply looking at her, you’d think she’s 7yo or even an 8yo as she’s very tall and has lost the baby fats already. In no time I’m sure she’d be all grown up and would even be needing the best acne treatment there is when she starts to have breakouts. We all went through that stage, right? Or did you not? I did.

For summer, I’m thinking of enrolling her to Trumpets Playshop Children’s Theater and some art classes too as per her request. Ballet is on our list also. Called Casa Musica also for possible violin lessons but I was told to wait another year. So you see, her summer will be full of activities that she won’t have time to get bored, I hope.

On to Mateo -

At one year and almost four months, he has mastered the art of walking and running. And was I worried before of him not walking? Duh. Although I still have to understand what he’s saying aside from mama, daddy and achie, I am not worried – yet. He’s still a thumb sucker and so far, he’s been a very happy baby still. He eats about almost anything we give him and oh are we pleased. Hopefully he won’t grow up to be a picky eater like his achie. We rarely take him out but since he’s already past 1yo, I vow to let him go out with us more often now.

He’s starting playschool this summer at Toddlers Unlimited. Same school we sent his achie to before. I am excited of course. I can’t wait to see how he learns to socialize and be with other kids his age.

So there. My kids. My pride and joy.

To those who know her well, she isn’t really much of a dancer but she tries – hard enough. And during their last performance in school, she proved that practice makes perfect and I was one proud mommy of course. You see, we would both practice her dance steps at home almost every day with her costume on. She loved her costume as much as she personally chose the pink grass skirt weeks before the performance day.

I feel bad though that I don’t have a decent photo of her dancing except the one below but I do have everything on video of course. And to this day, Sophia and I watches it everyday.

I am sorting out the tons of photos on my laptop and I saw this photo. Hence the post. I am slowly starting to clear my to do list one by one and I’m so proud. This sorting out of photos is the longest to do. I have hundreds that’s why. I hope by tomorrow I’ll be done so I can move to my next task. But before that, I have to check out about the colon cleansing pills my cousin is recommending for my mom. Gotta do that first – my note to self.

Now I am off to the mall to get him walking shoes. I’m obviously an excited mommy can you tell? Dropping by the drugstore too to get some prenatal vitamins to give away in the Medical Mission my cousin in organizing in my mom’s hometown for my uncle’s candidacy. My own little way of helping the campaign. Later!

In less than two months, our princess will turn a year older. Its so hard to believe she’ll be 5! I find myself saying the famous line again – how time flies! And true enough, it really does. She definitely is a baby no more. Well, physically, she looks like a 7 year old I know since she’s quite tall for her age and has lost all her baby fats already. But in my heart she’ll forever be my first born baby I – took care of 24/7, sent to every play class there was for her age, took to all my travels, religiously took and picked up from school every single day (before I had Mateo) and tell stories to nightly before sleeping with no exemptions (even if I still have tons of work to do like read up on sybervision weight loss product reviews). Yes, I just had to say those. For some reason it makes me feel good as a mom.

At 5, I wish she get to be more independent and continue being healthy. There is nothing more I could ask for aside from those two right now. She is far from perfect but she’s the perfect daughter for me.

As soon as we got home from Tayma’s (Jon’s lola) house for our Christmas Eve dinner, we made the kids open their gifts from Santa. Other presents were opened the next day before we leave for Pampanga. Sophia had all the stuff on her wishlist of course and needless to say, she was ecstatic! Here are photos of the kids in their pjs opening their gifts.

As for me, I guess I’ve been good all year round too as Santa granted my wish also! A home insurance finally! I’ve been wanting to get one for the longest time now. How about you guys? What did Santa drop off on Christmas Eve?

This is the scene every afternoon in our house – the kids playing at our mini playground. We all can’t wait until the little boy is big enough to walk and run around with his achie. I bet it will be a riot – a happy one at that.

Simply looking at them is bliss. People who don’t have kids yet won’t probably understand but those that do I’m sure can relate. Kids are every parent’s everything. Agree?

I’m getting all mushy here and I don’t know why. Lack of sleep, maybe? Haha. The little boy has colds again so he hasn’t been sleeping well at night. So you see, been awake most nights lately which is why I got to blog a little and was even able to check out Titan luggage. Downside is, I think I’m going to get sick now. Ugh!

Finally, after getting postponed for several times due to certain unavoidable circumstance – Mateo getting sick, typhoons and impromptu out of town trips, I was able to enroll Mateo to the Level 3 Play Class in Gymboree. Wee! Very much long overdue according to the dad but nevertheless, better late than never!

Here’s us during our first day. (big sister sophia joined us too!)

During the circle time.

Doing the activity with Teacher.

Refusing to ride the seesaw.

Now I need no fat burners anymore as I will definitely loose weight running after an active little boy. I like!!!

Pardon the photos by the way, it was very hard for yaya to take decent shots as we were positioned against the light. Still, I have to capture Mateo’s first just like his achi’s of course. Against the light or not.

You all know how I have been itching to cut Mateo’s hair, right? So to say that I was excited last Wednesday, Nov 25, his exact birthday, to have his hair finally cut is an understatement.

We actually went all the way to Kids’ Hair Salon in Podium for the cut as we came from Tayma’s (Jon’s grandmother) house for a little hair cutting ritual first. And then we were off to Podium. Was able to take TONS of photos but here are the best ones (per my standards, haha).

BEFORE

DURING

AFTER

***He didn’t really cry while they were cutting his hair. Only uncomfortable when the hair started going inside his shirt. He was probably getting the itchy feeling so he wanted to be carried instead and was moving a lot. We, or should I say the yayas as I was busy taking photos distracted him with the toys and books or whatever they could get their hands on. And it worked. In no time, he was done even before Jon could read up on the medical travel article on the newspaper.

So, how do you like his hair now? My mom said its way too short while I pretty much like it. He sure looks like a baby no more though. Mukha siyang 2 years old sa gupit nya, agree?
