Happy 3rd Birthday, Sophia!

birthday girl with her strawberry shortcake cake

My little girl celebrated her 3rd birthday yesterday together with her classmates at Toddlers Unlimited. I prepared a simple class party for her and I’m glad I did. As you all know, as I’ve written in my other blog, I had several party plans in mind but last minute decided on a class party. It was the best choice. Sophia was so happy to share her birthday celebration with her “friends” (what she calls her classmates).

missed coffee date

I missed the mommy bloggers’ coffee date yesterday :( Instead of trooping to Serendra, Jon, Sophia and I trooped to the pedia. Hay. Sophia’s cold and cough was getting worst that’s why. And after her hospital stint last October because of mild pneumonia, I am now very paranoid when the little girl develops some cough. I don’t take chances anymore. Doctor agad. Too bad it fell on the coffee day of my beloved mommy bloggers. Naku, I bet I missed a lot! Tsismisan niyo naman ako!!!! How was it? How were the kids?

the 26th (the night!)

continuation of this post.

I borrowed house clothes from my mom while Jon borrowed from my brothers for the two nights that we stayed in my mom’s house. The thing is, we were to attend a Christmas Party with my high school friends at Fontana the night of the 26th with red and white as theme so imagine how pissed I am of not having the clothes I prepared for us to wear. Nevertheless, we still attended of course as a friend of mine, Yvette, was going to kill me if we didn’t. It has been ages since we had a get together so I needed to go. This explains these photos:

I was wearing my mom’s blouse :) She didn’t have a red blouse that looked “nice” on me so I got the one I’m wearing instead.

That night was definitely one night I won’t forget – ever. One for the books. No, I’m not sharing why but goodness, I swear, I never felt as nervous in my entire life. It was ONE HELL OF A NIGHT. Looking back now, we can’t help but laugh at the whole incident. But we all got the scare of our lives that night, that one’s for sure.

Hint: BOYS WILL BE BOYS!!!!!! HAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

***We took Sophia home at around 8pm while Jon and I got back to the villa and went home 6am the next day.

christmas day

Last Christmas we trooped from South to North all day. We started the day and left the house at around 10am to dash to a sumptuous lunch at Ama’s house (Jon’s lola, father side) in Sta. Mesa. We stayed there for an hour and a half and left for San Luis, Pampanga (after eating so much lechon de leche!) where my family and relatives from my mom’s side are waiting. We arrived at around 2:30pm and stayed there until about 4pm. It was nice seeing my relatives – cousins, titos, titas and their kids again. Sophia was all over the place as usual. She was saying hi to everyone and wanted to play all the time. Too bad I don’t have pics with her cousins though. They were in my sister’s digital camera so I’m just leaving you with these pictures taken with my in-laws in Sta. Mesa. Don’t she look just like every inch of lady already with her outfit?!?! I think so! And so does everybody who saw her that day :)

daddy’s girl, definitely!

By 5pm, we were in my mom’s house in San Fernando where we stayed for two nights. Would you believe then that by this time, I found out that I left my BIG BAG of clothes at home?!?! Yes, Jon and my clothes! Ayayay!!!!!

a day after christmas

How was your Christmas, everyone? Ours was great if you’re wondering. I whipped some great dishes, naks! Sophia was ecstatic with her toys. She has lots of angpaos too, haha. I’m here in Pampanga now in my mom’s house as I’m typing this so I can’t share some pictures yet. Not that I have a lot or great pictures to share though. LOL. But I did manage to get some pics of the little girl opening her gifts while in pajamas last Christmas Eve and a few shots with her Christmas attire yesterday.

Yesterday was a tiring day indeed but was a merry one. Everybody was just in a festive mood. Food was also overwhelming everywhere we went that I still feel full until today from everything I ate yesterday. Goodness, I might have gained five pounds at least in one day! Not to worry though as I’ll be yayaless in two days for a week so I am sure to burn everything and probably more while babysitting the little princess full time.

Anyway, we’ll be back home tomorrow so you’ll probably hear from me then. I just needed to squeeze in an opp or two while the little girl is taking a bath as I badly need to kill time while we’re here ;p

noche buena

What’s for noche buena this year?

Same same :D

Bought Angus Beef Rib-Eye Steak from Tenderbites in Makati Supermarket yesterday already so we’re having that one with homemade mashed potatoes and buttered veggies. Jon’s requesting for garlic prawns with lemon butter sauce too. Same stuff we had last year. Based on experience though, I need to stick with just two to three viands only as we really don’t get to eat everything.

Oh, can’t wait for Chritmas Eve as I’m excited to see Sophia open her gifts :)

christmas party ’07

Last night was our yearly Christmas party here at home with some friends. I’m telling you, the little girl was bombarded with toys as gifts!!! Now I’m having second thoughts on still getting the aquadoodle for her. She just has too many presents to open already, too much I may say. As in!

Thanks to all her ninongs and ninangs =)

I don’t have decent pics to share. Kainggit silang lahat, most of them have the nikon d40? (or is it 90?) and it took GREAT pics!
