noche buena

What’s for noche buena this year?

Same same :D

Bought Angus Beef Rib-Eye Steak from Tenderbites in Makati Supermarket yesterday already so we’re having that one with homemade mashed potatoes and buttered veggies. Jon’s requesting for garlic prawns with lemon butter sauce too. Same stuff we had last year. Based on experience though, I need to stick with just two to three viands only as we really don’t get to eat everything.

Oh, can’t wait for Chritmas Eve as I’m excited to see Sophia open her gifts :)

samu’t sari

I can’t seem to focus on anything right now. I have so much that I want to do in my head that I don’t know where to start. As I’ve told you, I’m no good at multi-tasking that’s why. I need to do one thing at a time to be able to do well at it.

You see, I hate noise when I’m blogging. Good thing, I blog in the afternoons when Sophia is napping or during the mornings when I wait for her to finish her breakfast before going to school. No noise, just the sound of my fingers banging on my keyboard. Yes, banging, mabigat kase kamay ko bwahahaha. Once Jon arrives, which is usually at 6pm, even if I have time to blog as Sophia eats her dinner, I can’t. Jon watches the TV and the volume is really loud. I wonder if he has hearing problems, LOL.

I was able to shop at Rustan’s in ATC yesterday. I was looking for the play doh activity center I am wanting to give Sophia this Christmas but they don’t have it. We’re planning on going to Shang on Friday so I’m hoping they have one there. If worst comes to worst and I can’t find any, I’d probably get her another toy which I have no idea what as of now. Will see. The rest of the gifts I am planning to give her are all readily available. I just need to purchase them when I’m not with the little girl.

On to Sophia’s Chritmas outfit. I haven’t bought one for her yet. I don’t actually know what to get her. Maybe I won’t anymore as she has this Lacoste dress I bought in Bangkok last March that she hasn’t worn yet until now. I just might let her wear that one. It’s in green though. Are kids supposed to wear red during Christmas Day? I’m not sure. Sophia doesn’t look good in red I think. Bahala na.

On to my and Jon’s Chirtmas outfit. I wonder what we’ll be wearing this year. Last year, the three of us (together with the little girl) wore matching outfits. We were all wearing white Lacoste polo shirts. This year, nah … no more matching outfits for us. Parang di ko lang type, LOL.

I’m planning on getting myself a pair of melissa campana but I’m having second thoughts. Daming fake kase. LOL. As I was shopping yesterday too, I saw a lot of cute outfits. Mga shorty shorts paired with really nice kikay blouses. I want to wear sana haha, mag feeling sexy but gosh san ko naman susuotin. Ang lamig kaya now diba??? Sayang, I think super bagay with my speedy bag :p

I’m excited to see Barney on Dec. 23. Sophia and I are watching with some friends – Jacqui with Marla, Mary with Migs and Lala with Summer and Sage. I’m sure its going to be fun. Kainan after :D

Gulo ng post ko noh? Halo-halo. Ganyan kagulo utak ko haha.

Weekend Recap

On to my weekend recap …
We left the house at 10:30am last Saturday for my mom’s house in Pampanga. We were so hungry when arrived which was already around 1:30pm. My mom cooked lunch for us so we didn’t eat out even if we were already starving to death, lol. Nevertheless, the wait was sulit coz the food was superb, as always :) You see, my mom would always text me in advance to ask what viand I would want her to cook when we go visit. This time around, I requested for beef kaldereta, crispy pata and steamed crabs. YUMMY. She also cooked arrozcaldo for Sophia :) Hay, super sarap din. We had ice cream pa after ;p
Jon and I watched Rush Hour 3 after having lunch and while Sophia was taking her afternoon nap. We then had coffee at Starbucks and talked about everything and anything under the sun. Mostly tsismis actually, lol. Tsismoso kase kaming pareho ;p
By the time we got home, spaghetti and chicken sandwich was waiting for us at the dining table. YUMMY again. Sophia was with her lolo and lola upstairs while Jon was watching tv and I was able to go online. We took Sophia around the village in her bike/trike (whatever you call it) after and we were home just in time for dinner. Grabe, kainan nanaman, lol. I was still full by this time so I snubbed the inihaw na liempo, garlic chicken turbo and chopseuy on the table. Jon on the other hand had the time of his life eating the inihaw na liempo as it was his all time favorite. As if he hadn’t had enough, he ate ice cream pa! Oh well, let him be. It’s his pig out day that’s why. You see, Jon only eats bread (wheat bread, croissants and the like) at night, each night. Weekends are his pig out days and boy, he really makes bawi, lol.
The next day, we attended the christening of my cousin’s daughter. Luncheon was at Cabalen Resto and more than the food (because honestly, I could do way better, naks!), it was the chikahan and kamustahan between relatives that made my day. Since I live far in the south, I don’t get to see my cousins often other than when there are occassions like this one. But sad to say, the little girl didn’t cooperate as by 1pm she was all cranky and wanted to go home as she was sleepy already. We took her home and let her take her nap. Jon took a nap as well while I was on the computer. Sophia woke up at 4pm na so we were able to leave for home late already. Good thing its a Sunday and all roads are clear of traffic so we were home in no time.
Hay, it feels good to be home. Nothing still beats the comfort of my own bed, my own computer, my own bathroom and more of my whatevers aside from the yummy hassle-free food my mom whips out for me perhaps, lol. On a second thought, hindi rin, lol. I can cook mighty well too you know :)

anything and everything

I’ve so much on my head that I want to share but I’m as usual too lazy and is pressed for time so let’s do bullet points, shall we? :p
  • I finally had hair spa today, after such a loooooong time. I needed it, my hair and scalp badly needed it. Hay sarap.
  • We’re off to my parent’s house in Pampanga tomorrow. It’s been a month (or more) since we paid a visit. But they were here in the house two weeks ago naman.
  • Jon’s giving me one more vacation for the year. I’m now torn between going back to either HK or Singapore. Australia is a no-no this year as per my financier. Early next year daw :) Hope we push through as WE agreed not get pregnant unless we get to visit the land-down-under :)
  • Sophia’s appetite has been soooo good lately. Hopefully tuloy tuloy. *crossfingers*
  • I’m planning to take the whole household to Enchanted Kingdom for a break. This is on my priority list as they’ve been quite efficient. Walang sakit sa ulo. Hopefully tuloy tuloy din :)
  • Two previous helpers are trying to come back but no vacancy here in our house. If you’re looking for one and is interested, leave me a message. One is a housegirl–cleans the house and cooks, while the other one–labandera and plantsadora.
  • My MIL and SIL have been (for the longest time) bugging us to get a US Visa. Just so you all know, Jon’s sister is in the US taking up her doctorate degree in Pharmacy and she wants us to visit her as she’ll be pretty busy soon and won’t be able to come home to see her oh-so-lovely-duper-kulit pamangkin. Naku, will see. Jon and I are both afraid of rejection, takot kaming ma-deny, LOL. Jon’s the only one in the family who has no visa (wow, para namang ang dami nila noh? eh 2 lang silang magkapatid, LOL) To Nancy, will see, I would love to go. Before I get preggy sana (between OZ and US, I’d pick US anytime!), hehe and if budget permits. I’ll convince your kuya :)
  • I’ve been loving my ME time everytime Sophia goes to school. It’s been ages since I’ve roamed around the mall to my heart’s content (without a little brat on my back telling me not to go to the fitting room), had foot spa, went to the salon, shop ’til I drop and do my other little things without feeling gulity of leaving my little girl behind in the house all bored and cranky looking for her mommy. It feels good to know that as I enjoy my time, she also does–bigtime. My daughter loves her school! As a matter of fact, when I take her to school, she’d always be the one to tell me and the yaya to just wait outside. She would even tell me to go and buy myself some coffee! O diba???
  • I know this is bad but I’ve been into eating junk foods lately. I love to munch on Tomi Corn Chips (and cheap diba?!) and drink chocolait anytime of the day. Hay, addicting. Bad bad example to the little girl. Good thing she’s not into junk food. I let her try but di nya type :) Buti nalang :)

Menu for the week

Care to share your menu for the week? I’ve been having such a hard time making ours. Paulit ulit na lang. Sophia might get tired of our viands already. I want something new, specifically the soupy kinds of viands as Sophia is used to having soup all the time.
For this week, here’s ours. You’ll notice, we only have one main viand a day. It’s because it’s just me and Sophia who eats (Jon is out the whole day and doesn’t eat dinner except for his pig out day which is usually on a saturday or a sunday) so what we have for lunch, we’ll both have it again for dinner. I just add either fried chicken, fried fish or pork chop with every meal.
Monday – Sinampalukang Manok
Tuesday – Bulalo
Wednesday – Pangat na Tilapia
Thursday – Chicken, gizzard and upo soup (got this from pinoycook)
Friday – Sinigang na baboy
Saturday – Korean Beef Stew
Sunday – Beef Steak or Bistek and Chicken Misua for Sophia
Planning on what food to prepare is such a challenge for me. I need some suggestions, please. Pretty please.

malling, eating and crocs

The ever busy Jon finally found the time to take Sophia to school today. I was extremely happy to also finally be able to drag him to go malling with me while Sophia is in class. He had been very busy lately that I couldn’t really remember the last time we were together just hanging out inside a mall like we used to. Just so you know, we were once what you call the mall-rat-couple. We loved watching movies too that we never missed any good ones, even the bad ones pinapatulan minsan :p That was before though, way back, about ten eras ago, lol. Ganun na katagal.
Today though was different. We had time to go malling again, just the two of us, without having to worry about our little girl. We left her in class–which she really enjoys to bits by the way. The little girl doesn’t cry or look for me at all while in class. She’s very comfortable with her teachers and classmates. Very ME :) Good good good.

So there, we were going around the mall lang checking some stuff here and there. Super babaw but enjoy :) We’re very simple people I tell you.

When we got hungry, we settled with Les Paellas after much debate because Jon wanted to eat at Super Bowl. He was craving for roasted duck while I wanted to eat paella negra.

We were so full. We had …

We finished eating just right on time to pick the little girl up from school. Photo finish, lol.

Btw, just have to post this pair of cuties c/o Sophia’s Ama :)

Summer Program at Toddler’s Unlimited

Today is Sophia’s 1st day with her summer program at Toddler’s Unlimited. She belongs to the “moonshine” class for two year olds. She was very excited this morning as she missed going to school a lot. They had about a two week break, I think. I was quite disappointed though that she’ll be having a new set of teachers. I really like her two previous teachers and Sophia keeps on telling me all about them so I know she really likes them a lot too. She would even tell me that Teacher — is waiting for her while we’re on our way to school each time. Too bad … :(

Anyway, here’s what the little girl had for snacks in school today …
