lava cake

I went to Aggy’s this morning while Sophia was in class to finalize Sophia’s cake when I couldn’t help but take one of these lava cakes home. It sure tastes yummy! They made me taste it in the shop so I couldn’t resist buying.

Chef Tony’s!

Mine and Sophia’s current addiction!

my monday

I’m going to be real busy today, Monday.

Once I drop Sophia off to school, I’m going to troop to Rosemont to submit application papers and requirements of the little girl for us to finally schedule an interview. Parent’s interview first, remember? Once I’m done, I’ll be heading to the mall to look for silver shoes Sophia needs to wear for my cousin’s wedding this Saturday. We just had our fitting yesterday and my oh my, the little girl didn’t want to take her gown off, LOL. She was dancing ballet while she was wearing the gown to the designer’s delight. Oh, I can’t wait for Saturday. I’m one uber excited mommy can you tell? Anyway, I need to make a quick trip to the supermarket too to get some stuff, a lot actually – fruits and food supply. I’m itching to eat bicol express because of my chat with Peachy the other day so I’m getting stuff for that and will ask my helper to cook it for dinner. Hay, I bet super sarap. Peachy, try the recipe na! Before I forget, I also need to get Sophia a school certificate from Toddlers Unlimited today for something I’m not revealing yet haha.

By the time I get home, I promised myself to give time in organizing my drawer! Goodness, there could be a snake nesting inside and I wouldn’t even notice! LOL. Ang gulo, I need to fix it by hook or by crook. Wish me luck. I hope opps won’t get in my way today, haha!!!

Have a Happy Monday everyone.

my cookbook

I saw this yesterday at the magazine stand and I instantly grabbed it. It was the only one left and I’m so glad I got it! The recipes inside are oh so yummy!!! I can’t wait to try all of them, LOL. This is released once a year according to the girl at Filbars and it sells like hotcakes daw. It has the best of Good Housekeeping recipes. Grab one, you won’t regret it, promise. The recipes are so easy to cook! Oh, I can’t wait!

great start

I still don’t have much time in my hands right now as I just try to sneak in a short pc time when the little girl takes a nap so pardon me for not answering comments. I do appreciate your dropping by however, I thought you should know that. I do, really do.
So today is the first day of 2008. Can you believe that? Let me just ask, how was your New year celebration? Ours, well, we spent it home as usual :p I didn’t do the cooking this time as obviously, I don’t have a yaya still. She’s coming back on the 3rd so two more days to go! Anyway, we had Wagyu Rib-Eye Steak (or Kobe Style Beef) we bought from Tenderbites in Makati Supermarket for Media Noche (with my FIL cooking it) and I swear, it was DELICIOUS. At 9k for four slices, it better be, right? But seriously, it was oh so juicy and very tender – it almost melts in your mouth hahaha. We slept early after. No parting or anything, I was too tired to. We welcomed the New Year sleeping! LOL.
On to today, I had the best news ever. What a way to start the year. No, I’m not pregnant :p I just got a call from Sophia’s former yaya, her yaya when she was still 3 months old to about a year and half, the one who came back again when she was 2yo but have to go as she got pregnant. She already gave birth and is now coming back! As you all know, I’m in search of a new yaya as Sophia’s yaya now is leaving next month for good. Oh goody, no more yaya worries for me, thank God. As I have previously said here, good yayas are extra blessings we should really be thankful for. I am so happy to have found our extra blessing BACK.
I feel good about 2008, if today is any indication of how this new year will be for us, it’s going to be a REALLY GREAT year then :)

my kare-kare

Since I was home the whole day today, I decided to try cooking Kare-Kare. My first ever attempt to cook the dish. Thanks to Juliana and Pinoycook for the recipe I used as guide.

Modesty aside, it was yummy! Even if it doesn’t look like it, it sure was. Promise. Jon said it was, really :)

For today …

Goddag (Good-dahg)!

This is just one of the things Sophia and I learned from our Global Kids Class at Gymboree today. It is a Danish Hello, if you’re wondering. As expected, Sophia enjoyed the class. Global Kids Class tackles a different country each session. Games, art stuff, songs and dances are all themed per class. You may to try it with your kids. It was fun!

~~~
I am finally done with my grocery list for noche buena. I bought everything I need today as I’ll be locking myself in the house in the coming days. I hate traffic that’s why. We’re going out on Sunday though to watch Barney but that’s it. The rest of the days, we’ll be holed up at home until the 24th. By 25th, we’ll be hitting the road again.
