Baby stuff shopping, again!

I can’t get enough of shopping for our coming baby. You see, since I am having a boy, I am inclined to buy new baby products again even if this is my second pregnancy already as most of Sophia’s stuff are colored pink or has girly themes.

Right now, I am looking at crib linens. Good thing Sophia’s wooden crib is white so I don’t need to get a new one, just a couple of crib fitted sheets and crib bumpers for protection.

I am also thinking of getting a new stroller, a travel system specifically. I hope I can make the husband agree on which one I like even if the price is quite steep. After all, a good stroller and a carseat is a necessity nowadays. What do you think?

Lastly, I am searching for the perfect baby bag to lug around with our baby boy’s stuff. The bag must be roomy and very functional and can be lugged around by either me or hubby.  I noticed that diaper bags have evolved (style-wise) tremendously these days compared to some three years ago when I had my eldest.

There you go, my online shopping list for the moment.  My day will be pretty occupied surfing I’m sure.

Thank you.

Thank you friends for the comments on my jackpot post.  We really are in cloud nine. :) Jon is probably the happiest dad on earth right now, HAHA.  You all know how we wanted to have a boy, right?  And thank you to the Big Man up there who heard our fervent wish.  We really can’t ask for anything more.  To say that we are so blessed is an undertatement.  So, all I can say now really is just THANK YOU.

As all of you have said, quota na kami. Yes, I believe so.  Well, atleast that’s what we think right now.  I wonder if it’ll change in a few years or so but so far, having two - a girl and a boy, is already enough for us.  We have big plans you see so Jon believes we can only sustain two (or three the most) with the lifestyle and plans we have for our kids.

During my ultrasound, funny how my OB Sonologist commented that all the while she thought I was so prim and proper but when she finally wrote the word BOY on the screen, I screamed like a little girl.  I just couldn’t help it as I was preparing myself for another baby girl because most people I know commented that I looked like I was having another Sophia.  But were they so wrong! LOL. Jen are you hearing me?!?! LOL!

Jon had the biggest smile too, I swear. He kept calling everybody after. He even is treating friends to a buffet dinner at Circles in Makati Shang and his farm employees had the whole night drinking, partying and merrying, LOL! Super happy obviously. As for me, I think I still am in denial. I still can’t believe it. I so wanted to have a boy really para we are done and yun nga ang binigay. Hay, as I said in my other post, happy happy joy joy talaga.

Jackpot.

My bottle search

… is over.

untitled.jpg

After reading stuff about BPA, I am now switching from Avent Bottles to Dr. Brown’s. I know, there isn’t specific proof or evidence yet as to how dangerous BPA is but every mom would agree with me that its better to be safe than sorry, right? After all, I’ve got nothing to lose if I go on the safe side, aside from the few more dollars maybe. LOL.

Dr. Brown bottles are highly recommended. According to KK:Cool Tool:

The secret to Dr. Brown’s Baby Bottles, apparently, is the tube system inside — it prevents the infant from swallowing air, which makes for a happier baby (and by extension, happier parents). As baby eats and the bottle drains, the internal tube directs incoming air to above the bottle contents, so the young one’s not working against a vacuum. This is supposed to be easier on their eardrums, too. Make of it what you will, but we’ve managed to avoid the ear-infection boogeyman which seems to hit nearly every other young family we know. Also, unlike similar systems that use collapsing bags to keep out the vacuum, you don’t need to keep a supply of the little bags around.

Here’s my loot care of my sister in law from the US:

I’ll forever remember

… yesterday, June 25.

It was the very first time I didn’t take Sophia to school. You see, since she started toddler classes at a play-based toddler school when she was almost 2 years old, I made it a point to take her to class. All other activities or classes too like The Little Gym and Gymboree, I was with her. Never missed a class. And so, yesterday was a first for me and I didn’t take it well.

I HAD SEPARATION ANXIETY.

I was literally holding my tears back while I was taking her inside the car with her yaya and the driver. She, on the other hand, didn’t have any hint of sadness at all which made me want to cry all the more. SUSME, ano ba ito? Could it be the pregnancy hormones or what?

When she shouted “Goodbye, Mommy!” with hands waving while the car was about to go, I couldn’t hold it any longer. I ran inside the house and wept. I called the husband and continued to cry over the phone. Crazy, isn’t it? OA, ano?

But things are better now. I have managed to accept the fact that I cannot be with her all the time and besides she needs to be on her own every once in a while.   It’s both for our own good.  After all, Ill be having another baby soon so we both need this so we can adjust.  I’ll still take her to school maybe twice or thrice a week though but everyday is not feasible anymore  because three hours in Starbucks every morning each day will do me no good.  Malls are still closed by the time she’s in school so I have nowhere to go.

Hay, another mommy moment for the books.

Baby furniture shopping.

As I have already posted, we recently had some renovations and painting jobs in the house in preparation for our coming second blessing. We have long been waiting for this new bundle of joy and we are just really glad the Big Man up there heard our prayers. So you could just imagine, we - the daddy, the mommy and our little girl who will soon be a big sister, are all giddy excited.

To date, we already have fixed the nursery room. We had it colored, and are now trying to look for baby furnitures to complete it. We are hoping for a boy this time so I have been looking at nice boy themed cribs, changing tables and rugs. There is just so much to choose from over the net that it becomes overwhelming. How I wish I have all the extra funds to spare. My days are now occupied surfing and shopping for baby stuff and I am so thrilled. I can’t wait to have a new baby!

The best stroller for newborns.

Barely four months into my pregnancy, I am in deep confusion in what stroller to get for my little one. Funny, eh?

There are so many strollers for newborns available in the market today and its getting more and more confusing. You see, when I had Sophia, I only knew of Graco products so it was a no-brainer. I got a Graco stroller for her. I am selling that stroller now for some reason. I am hinting I will have a boy this time so I don’t think the old one’s color and pattern is appropriate. Hence, I am looking for a new one. I wonder which is the best strollers for newborns right now based on customer reviews. I sure need help in deciding which one to get as the available choices over the net are overwhelming. I need something sturdy and has all the safety features my future child will ever need aside from looking really nice and cool of course. The price has to be on the practical side too. I also want the one that has a car seat to go with it if possible.

Looks like my nights will be pretty much occupied these days with my shopping for strollers for newborns. I just hope I find THE ONE soon enough before I lose a lot of sleep over this matter. I am one overly excited pregnant mommy can you tell?

3rd pre-natal check-up.

I just came from my 3rd pre-natal check up and what can I say? The baby is in good shape! I had an ultrasound again and ang likot ni baby! Hay, this totally gives me some peace of mind as I have been very sick lately. No drastic change on my weight though, was only able to gain 1 kg. This is understandable as I was sick for almost two weeks. I promise to make bawi this month, we’ll see.

I’m on my 15th week now and I hope I’ll get better and better with the coming days so I can be all set for our HK trip.

My 2nd pre-natal check-up.

halo-027.JPG

Isn’t she adorable? :D

This photo was taken last Friday at Asian Hospital while we were waiting for my OB. I had my 2nd pre-natal check up you see and so far so good. I had another ultrasound and Sophia was so stunned to see her “baby brother” on the ultrasound monitor kicking and the like. She was so happy! I was happy to see a little baby inside me too - again. We can’t wait for baby “bullet” to arrive.

On to me, I lost weight! A total of two kilos in a month. I told you, if you see me now, you’d never guess I’m pregnant and would even probably think I am taking the most sought after prescription diet pill on the market today which is what they call generic Phentermine. Hay, I really wish I’d get back my healthy appetite soon.  I am getting quite worried you know.

To my fellow buntis, how are all of you? Any new developments?

Stroller talk.

While Jon was drooling at Hublot big bang watches over the net last night, I on the otherhand, was busy checking out the prams at Quinny.  Although I would love to get a Bugaboo for our upcoming baby, with the price tag of almost a thousand dollars for a stroller alone, I’ll pass. Instead, I’ll probably settle with this five hundred dollar Quinny Buzz which is still as good, I hope.

Shopping makes me so excited!
