My Hula Dancer

Before booking the husband a hotel in Brisbane where he could get me my personalized lip balm, let me share with you my pride and joy – Sophia, my hula dancer. :)

my 5 year old

To those who know her well, she isn’t really much of a dancer but she tries – hard enough. :D And during their last performance in school, she proved that practice makes perfect and I was one proud mommy of course. You see, we would both practice her dance steps at home almost every day with her costume on. She loved her costume as much as she personally chose the pink grass skirt weeks before the performance day.

I feel bad though that I don’t have a decent photo of her dancing except the one below but I do have everything on video of course. And to this day, Sophia and I watches it everyday. :)

Sophia’s 5th Birthday Party

We skipped the big party for this year. Instead, our little girl celebrated her 5th birthday in school with her classmates and it was as much fun sans the big budget. :D

The Princess and the Frog is her thing now so no contest, it was her party theme. Here’s her mini Princess and the Frog cake.

And the cupcakes.

As to what to give her classmates for a token, I was thinking of having storage boxes made but due to time restraints, I opted to get these frog coin banks instead. I just filled them with assorted chocolates, lollies and candies.

Here are pictures during the very short school party. I wish I had more photos to share but my laptop is acting up. Will try to upload later at my Acer Aspire and share some more photos at flickr. Anyway, even if the party was short, it was more than enough. The little girl had her two minute of glory and she was more than happy. :)

Our little boy made a special appearance at his achi’s party by the way. It was a special request by non other than the birthday celebrant. So Mat-Mat was there, look!

Its Friday

… and my mom’s visiting, tee hee! I’ll have loads and loads of her homemade food once again – sisig, tokwa’t baby, crispy pata, nataniel’s buko pandan and leche flan, sylvannas … Oh, all yummy for the tummy! This makes me all the more excited with her every visit. Of course, I am also looking forward to our chika session more than anything else. I,m sure though, on her part, seeing her “apos” is the best part. :)

And since it was Sophia’s yesterday, the lola promised to take the little girl shopping. So we’ll be meeting at ATC for lunch first before the lola and apo head on to Rustans and Toy Kingdom for toys while I look for reliable POS systems. I wonder now where I would treat the “lola” for lunch. Cyma, maybe?

For teacher.

My little girl threw a tantrum on the way to school the other day. Why? Because of this …

She did this artwork for her teacher before going to bed while waiting for me reading up on the extended service plan my aunt is getting at Good Sam. The next day, she left it at home. She only got to remember about it when we were a few minutes away from her school. She suddenly bawled and cried like a cow! She wanted to go back and get it but I told her it was too late already. She bawled some more.

Isn’t she sweet?

Friday Fill Ins #166

FFI

And…here we go!

1. Why are you making a big fuss out of my blogging?
2. I want you to take it easy and be happy.
3. If you learn to accept things and mostly your mistakes then it will be on my terms.
4. Try it and see what happens.
5. I could use a a word of encouragement from you.
6. Lets talk and then make up for the lost time.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I’m looking forward to to studying the insurance quote proposals sent to me, tomorrow my plans include taking time out to reconnect with old friends and Sunday, I want to treat myself to a whole body massage!

Sick.

Kids are sick. Sophia has the cough and Mateo the colds. Hay. I always get upset when my kids have the sickies. Every mother does I know. Oh well … It must be the extra ordinary hot weather we’ve been having, what do you think? Took them to the pedia the other day and quite a number of kids were there. Sick too. Pedia said nothing serious so i shouldn’t really worry although Mateo was given antibiotics because his right ear is starting to get irritated. Today, both has improved and hopefully are on their way to full recovery so I can go back to working again and emailing back the car insurance companies who sent me quotes for our insurance renewal.

Be healthy, everyone.
