The perfect mattress.

I have always wanted to get one of those Latex Mattresses I see online for they are said to give remarkable comfort and support. For some reason, I haven’t had the time to get myself one but now that I am pregnant, I almost always wake up with a backache so I have never been convinced to invest on a good mattress than now. As I did my research, Natural Care bed by Danny Seo carries the Latex Mattress I am looking for. But more than that, The Natural Care collection from Natural Care Bed is an eco-friendly sleep system that features a natural rubber tree based latex layer made from biodegradable materials like rubber tree sap and a layer of base foam enhanced with soy. Not only is the latex supremely comfortable, supportive and to top it off, built to last as Natural Care latex mattresses have a 20-year limited warranty, it is also inherently resistant to dust mites, mold and mildew. Now, after reading that, it seems like I’ll truly be enjoying a relaxing sleep as such mattress helps eliminate pressure points across your entire body and it being good for the environment too. Who wouldn’t want that? I definitely do!

The hubby and his cars.

My husband is into cars since college. I always can’t seem to understand why he buys expensive cars but I guess I just have to ask myself why I love designer bags too and I should know the answer. :D As I am addicted to bags, he is to cars. Fair deal? I guess. But you see, the thing is, when the husband gets tired of a certain car, he sells them which I am sure I won’t do with any of my designer bags. Not ever! You can count on that. Anyway, back to the husband, he sells his cars after some time and gets new one but I find it ridiculous that he sells the cars at a very low price, a far cry from their real value. This is according to him, something he can’t control as cars really diminishes value over time but I beg to disagree. I have read about Appraisal Group of America Incorporated and how they can get fair value appraisal each time for their clients. Whether you’re claiming for an insurance, selling your car, Appraisal Group of America will fight for you to get the settlement to which you’re entitled. They have the expertise to do so you won’t go wrong with them. I am telling the husband about them and I will make him sign up next time so he can get paid and compensated for the Diminished Value he is entitled to.

why do we need friends.

Thanks to Jesse for this.

“We need friends for many reasons,

all throughout the season.

We need friends to comfort us when we are sad,

and to have fun with us when we are glad.

We need friends to give us good advice,

We need someone we can count on,

and treat us nice.

We need friends to remember us

one we have passed sharing memories

that will always last.”

Spread the poem of friendship.

My mom and her furniture frenzy.

My mom is having her house renovated again, for the nth time. This current renovation however is in time for her 50th birthday celebration this coming October 10. Yes, my dear gorgeous mom is turning fifty. I am actually helping her plan for the party which is why I am so busy lately. Aside from the party details I am in charge of, she also has been bugging me to help her look for new Living Room Furniture that will complement her newly painted living room walls. And since she has her own office at home, she’s also planning on changing her Office Furniture this instant. Again, in time for her dinner party at home. If you know my mom, she’s really like that. She loves fixing up her house all the time even if it means spending a lot each time. It’s her hobby I guess and I wish I got her knack for decorating but unfortunately, I didn’t. I, most of the time, even plays the antagonist and keeps on telling her to stop always changing her furniture sets as its a waste of money which is why sometimes she keeps things from me. Just last week when Sophia and I visited, I was surprised to see that she has new Bedroom Furniture she ordered online. I guess, she’s really excited for her coming party which is why she’s all out decorating her house. I’ll let it pass now but she’ll hear from me soon.

Sophia’s accident and LATE trip to the ER.

Last Saturday, Sophia was with her ama reading some textbooks from school inside her room which is at the second floor of the house. I was downstairs, at the dining room specifically, fixing our lunch when suddenly I heard a loud bang/sound and saw Sophia’s “baby stairway gate” which was located at the top of our stairs fall. The next thing I knew, one of Sophia’s slipper was already in front of me. I was shocked. I thought Sophia fell too! I almost had a heart attack, I swear even if I wasn’t sure yet if she really fell. I ran upstairs and saw her sitting on the uppermost step of the stairs shocked also. Thank God she did not fall with the baby gate. Apparently, her ama said, Sophia ran outside her room and wanted to go down so she pushed the stair gate. I am guessing because of wear and tear, the stair gate probably has loosened screws so she was able to push it with ease that fast.

The dad who was in our room that time came out and carried her as she started crying after seeing me so worried. All the while we thought that was it not until when Sophia’s yaya saw blood on the floor. We started searching for a wound and there we saw her right foot bleeding. The cut was an inch big. Maybe a part of the stair gate hit her foot before falling. I immediately got cotton balls with Betadine and applied it on the wound. After a while, it stopped bleeding so even if we had doubts of the wound being deep and was thinking of taking her to the ER to make sure, we decided against it. Wrong.

The next day, Sunday, the wound was fine but by Monday, after the Mother’s Day Program of Rosemont at Alabang Country Club, it bled again. Maybe because of Sophia’s walking or something, I don’t know so we immediately took her to Asian Hospital’s ER. The doctor on duty told me that the wound should have been stitched as it was a bit deep. Hay, I never felt so guilty in my life. I knew I shouldn’t have taken it for granted. Moreso, the doctor said that it was prone to infection so he prescribed an antibiotic, a very high dose at that because it has been two days already according to him. He even cited Tetanus as another concern so he asked me if Sophia is complete with all her vaccine shots. To confirm, he wanted me to call her pedia but that time her pedia was in HK so I was again in panic. But I’m pretty sure she’s complete with her vaccines as you might all know by now, her pedia is Jon’s tita.

The doctor then gave me an alternative, we can have it stitched for it to heal better and faster but they have to cut the wound again. Oh no! No way. I said I’d rather have the wound heal longer than usual as he said it was safe naman not to have it stitched but better lang if it was.

Here’s Sophia while at the ER after the doctor attended to her.

Now looking back, I should have known better. I always say that better to be safe than sorry but what was I thinking? Why didn’t I take her to the ER right away? If you ask the husband though, he thinks otherwise, he said that he would rather not take Sophia to the ER as he doesn’t want her to get the stitches. Weird huh?
