End of 1st tri.

Exactly today, I am on my 12th week which explains why I’m starting to feel better and gets to blog often.

Here’s how my baby is growing according to Babycenter …

The most dramatic development this week: Reflexes. Your baby’s fingers will soon begin to open and close, his toes will curl, his eye muscles will clench, and his mouth will make sucking movements. In fact, if you prod your abdomen, your baby will squirm in response, although you won’t be able to feel it. His intestines, which have grown so fast that they protrude into the umbilical cord, will start to move into his abdominal cavity about now, and his kidneys will begin excreting urine into his bladder.

Meanwhile, nerve cells are multiplying rapidly, and in your baby’s brain, synapses are forming furiously. His face looks unquestionably human: His eyes have moved from the sides to the front of his head, and his ears are right where they should be. From crown to rump, your baby-to-be is just over two inches long (about the size of a lime) and weighs half an ounce.

How many times have we seen celebrities rise and fall because of drug addiction? Many times indeed, isn’t it? It sometimes intrigue me why people of certain status granted with fame and money would almost always fall victim to drug abuse. I remember the likes of Kurt Cobain, Nirvana’s lead vocalist and River Phoenix, an award winning actor during my high school years who I both loved but both also were victims of drug abuse, and finally dies because of it. Drug treatment could have been nice.

Today, with the growing times, drug rehab programs for those seeking to be off any substance abuse have been improved and made better to build a lasting foundation of recovery. At The Canyon, renowned rehabilitation and dual diagnosis treatment center, they integrate traditional and holistic treatment so that each person who comes to stay with them will enjoy a personalized treatment program that is customized to meet their individual needs. Tucked away in the Malibu Mountains, with the best facilities one could ever think of, experts at The Canyon treat the spiritual wounds of drug addiction as well as the physical effects of prolonged drug abuse. They will help you find who you really are and would make you want change for good.

So if you, or anyone you know finally finds the courage to seek for help and change for the better, give yourself or people you know the gift of healing. They deserve nothing but the best, take them to The Canyon before its too late.

This is it!

I am now a certified preschooler mom!

While I was surfing the net for bathroom faucets to replace our old ones, the helper handed me this letter from Rosemont, my daughter’s school for SY 2008-2009. Oh was I excited! It was a letter welcoming our family to Rosemont School and inviting us to the Parent’s Orientation for us to have a better grasp of the PAREF philosophy. The letter also included Sophia’s schedule of activities for the whole year. I just have to make a correction though as she was included in the Nursery morning class when I opted (last minute) to make her join the afternoon class instead. Other than that, we are all set for the opening of classes this June 16. There’s really no backing out. Oh, I can’t wait!

Boracay Trip Part 2

By lunchtime, and after everybody who took a plunge to the beach finish taking their baths, we trooped to D Talipapa for a sumptuous meal. Here’s Sophia having her first ever tricycle ride, on our way to D Talipapa.

We had fresh crabs, prawns, squids and lobsters! Oh so yummy!!! I couldn’t resist but eat with my hands as I gobble up the yummy seafoods we ordered. I just wished that the resto we went to had faucets ready for its customers like me rather than having to go to the bathroom and use the bathroom faucets instead when we wash our hands. Anyway, here’s my and Jon’s picture while waiting for our order.

And here’s me at D Mall holding a shake from Jonah’s. Do I look pregnant? Not at all, diba? :D

Right after Sophia took a short nap, it was time for swimming again. This time it was a bit hot already so I made Sophia wear the new swimsuit I bought for her.

Here’s us with my mom.

Greatest Mom Award.

Thanks to Dez for this mommy award. There’s nothing else I would rather be than a great mom indeed. :)

Passing this award to my fellow mommies – MBAP.  Where are all of you?  Musta na? I’m slowly getting back to blogging already.

Boracay Trip Part 1

We left for Bora last Friday via Seair as recommended by a friend because according to him, they have the fastest flights to Bora. And true enough, in 35 minutes, we were in Caticlan Airport. Planes were small, 35 seater only but surprisingly, the plane ride was not bumpy even with the bad weather. We were actually contemplating on re-booking the trip because of the bad weather but we decided to push through with it the last minute. And this was a good thing as when we reached Bora, it wasn’t really raining, just a little drizzle here and there but it was very windy. I was told that the weather Thursday and Friday morning was worst though.

We arrived Caticlan airport Friday afternoon and was picked up by van for the port. Here, Sophia had her first ever boat ride which she enjoyed to a hilt.

We were then picked up by a small jeepney and was transported to True Home Hotel in Station 1. The boys – Jon, my twin bros and my dad went swimming right away while I, with my mom went around. Sophia was taking a nap with yaya in our room. By dinner, we ate at the hotel. Here’s Sophia before going to bed playing with her leappad.

The next day, Sophia woke up so early and the first words that came out of her mouth were, “Mom, let’s go swimming!” At 6:30am, no way! I told her we have to eat breakfast first and she gladly obliged. Right after breakfast, the gang went swimming. Since it was still early and a bit windy, I made Sophia wear her wetsuit, a thermal swimsuit she uses for her swimming lessons as approved by her teacher. This way, I wasn’t worried that she’ll get cold at all even if it was quite windy.

Here’s the little girl, yaya, my cousins and the dad having fun in the sand.

Where am I, you ask? Sitting in one of those beach chairs making chika with a friend I saw there. Several vendors kept offering us goodies from necklaces to wood carvings and even some nice vintage sunglasses lookalikes. I managed to buy necklaces and bracelets for Sophia and me after so much haggling. :D

Suddenly, it was already lunchtime. We headed to D Talipapa after. Kwento and more pics to follow.
