My Derma.

You want a little trivia about me?

Here.

I go to the very same dermatologist since I was in first year high school until now. Even if this means I have to drive all the way to San Fernando and wait in line inside a tiny office full of people with just one small couch to sit on. I once took Jon with me and he couldn’t believe it. I tried other dermatologists but I find myself going back to my old derma over and over again. You see, even if I don’t have problematic skin, there was one point in my college life that I just got all stressed out and acnes came popping out and its only this dermatologist that made them all go away without leaving any dark marks on my face. Until now, I do still maintain the medicines she gave me to prevent any more breakouts. Now that I am pregnant though, it’ll be quite hard for me to pay her a visit when the need arises so I just might finally try the natural acne treatment my good friend Jacqui is raving about. I hope it does work wonders to my skin like it did to hers or else I might troop to Pampanga unexpectedly again.

Shoe Shopping.

Finally got Sophia her school shoes from Stride Rite.

Sad news.

I was on the phone with a good friend this morning when she casually asked me if I know of reputable mortgage lenders she can seek the help of. It was then that she narrated how she and her family is having financial problems right now as her husband has been given compulsory early retirement by his company. Mind you, this company is very well known but is apparently starting to lay off people here and there. News like this not only makes me sad but also makes me worry - a lot. It just shows that anything can really happen no matter how unexpected and that we can never be too sure with what the future brings so we should always be prepared. We can’t be any complacent at all especially if involves the future of our family. The one thing we can do to be prepared for situations like this is to never stop saving. Make saving and not spending the top priority of each family. Having the newest gadgets and sporting the latest car will never take us places anyway so who needs them? Unless you really have more than what you need, then by all means, splurge. Agree with me?

Sunday swimming.

Sophia and Marla had so much fun swimming last Sunday morning.  They were splashing in the cold water under the very hot sun for two hours while the mommies and daddies were busy chitchating over breakfast. Yes, a very late breakfast as we stayed up until 3am.

Here are some pics of the two.

Backgrounder: Marla is Martin’s daughter. Martin is Jon’s bestfriend. They are like brothers - will do anything for one another, yes, ANYTHING.  Even some unimaginable stuff brought about by their youth not so long ago.  But things have changed now. They are now both responsible husbands (to me and my Mareng Jackie) and dads.  Their ultimate wish is for Sophia and Marla to be the best of friends like them.

Gift option.

I was looking for a nice new pendant for the old chain Jon’s grandmother gave to me when I saw some medical id tags being sold in the same jewelry site.  I wasn’t aware such existed.  They were really nice, such a nice and unique gift to give people we know or love who are into the medical profession.  I will surely keep them in mind the next time I’m buying a special gift for my two beloved cousins who are both doctors. I just hope I have the budget by then.

Our Dora sched.

Some of you were asking about our Dora The Explorer Live schedule but I wasn’t sure so I didn’t reply to your comments. This was because I just got the tickets last Saturday. You see, a friend is actually the one buying tickets for me and Sophia every time there is a show either in Araneta or in Aliw Theater. She works near Megamall so she can buy tickets anytime.

So finally, here are our details, we are attending the April 20 show at 1pm. Any of you who have the same schedule as ours?

My husband is desperate.

To lose weight that is. He tried limiting his food intake and getting some exercise but still, his weight now is still a far cry from his desired weight. He is even more pressured now as our Boracay trip is just a month away so as a last resort, he is trying some weight loss pills his friend is highly recommending. I hope they work for him as for me, more than his physical look, being healthy is more important and he badly needs to lose weight as per his doctor’s advice during his last Executive check-up.

To do list for today.

I woke up this morning with a long to do list my husband has for me plastered on our cabinet door. Here’s what he needed me to do today:

  1. pay his cellphone bill
  2. schedule change oil and tune up for our Toyota Previa
  3. call his doctor’s clinic for his 2d echo results
  4. fax bank docs
  5. and buy his office supplies - printer ink, carbonless paper receipts, paper clips and pens specifically bic pens .

Now, I need to get up no matter how lazy I am, hay …

Big Sister Sophia.

If there’s one person who is as excited as the dad with the coming of another baby to the family, it’ll be no other than my little girl who is now a big sister - Sophia. She has been wanting to have a baby brother or sister for the longest time now. Her prayers at night would always include of asking Papa Jesus to give her a baby brother or sister so she is not “alone anymore”. When I first heard her say it, all on her own, I had goosebumps really. I didn’t teach her nor told her to include it in her prayer but she did, all on her own. Here’s how she puts it “Papa Jesus, please give me a baby brother so I am not alone anymore”. That coming from a 3 year old, wouldn’t your heart just melt and would do anything to get yourself pregnant? LOL. Out of nowhere too, she would ask me if I’m pregnant already as she’ll say that she wants to have someone to play with and so she won’t be alone anymore. Is she really that bored with me and her yaya? I’m really wondering.

Now, she is ecstatic. She loves the idea of her mommy being pregnant and a baby is coming. She massages my tummy and would tell me of how she’ll play with her baby brother or sister when he or she comes out. O diba? Day 2 palang yan of my pregnancy. HAHA.

The bug is here.

Pregnancy bug that is. :D
