what happened

We’re home at last. After spending five grueling days in the hospital, we’re now home. Oh, how I missed the house! The little girl was all smiles too when we went in. She terribly missed her room and her playroom, even her Ate Ging and Ate Jen.

I, on the other hand, wanted to dive on my bed! Parang ang sarap matulog sa kama namin, LOL.

Finally the agony is over. Here I am now, life back to normal, infront of my computer already trying to finish assignments here and there. I’m about 8 pounds lighter (maybe even 10), with eyebags as big as you can’t even imagine, unplucked brows and about three pimples on my forehead which clearly spells - STRESS. I’m just glad the little girl is well now. She is by the way pounds lighter too :( Payat na actually :( She was only allowed to eat plain congee aka “am” with fish for five days! On the 4th and 5th day nga, she was hallucinating over eating sinigang and pangat na, swear!

So, what happened? I took Sophia to the pedia again last Friday because her fever won’t go away. If you can remember, she has been having fever since Monday. She was coughing too but was diagnosed to have upper respiratory tract infection Tuesday. In layman’s term - sipon lang talaga. She was given a certain antibiotic, Amoclav if I’m not mistaken and this prompted her to have an irritated tummy. Nagtae siya the next day so we stopped the antibiotic and switched to a new one. Wednesday, she had no fever na but the next day meron nanaman. By Thursday too, her cough was really bad. Took her to the pedia the next day and we were not allowed to go home anymore. Apparently, the little girl was already dehydrated and upon xray, she was diagnosed to have pneumonia. Good God, I was crying. How could I not notice? She was still active kase the whole time which according to the doctor is probably because she really has a high tolerance for pain or mataas daw resistensiya niya. Her appetite was also good too.

(My crying spells need a separate post, let’s stick with what transpired muna in this post, LOL.)

So we we’re admitted. As I told you, the little girl was all brave and more. She did not cry when they inserted the IV. Blood tests (thrice) were not as hard too. Ako ang naiiyak, really. I almost lost it when they performed a skin test on her. Grabe, I was really crying because I knew how painful skin tests are. I can’t help but to blame myself for not paying extra attention but as they say pneumonia daw talaga can be as quick. It could transpire within a day or two talaga. Oh well. Lesson learned here.

Sophia had her IV for 5 days. There never was a time she threw a tantrum of some sort. I swear, she is the sweetest girl ever. She was all smiles to nurses, doctors and her visitors even with the countless times they injected her with medicines. Ang bait sobra. Everybody was commenting how jolly she still is even while sick and an IV on her left hand. What irritated her lang was the nebulizer. Di niya type but nabobola naman. She never made it hard for us.

I couldn’t really be any happier now. Sophia’s all well and I’m one uber proud mommy. My little girl has clearly exceeded my expectations. She is more than what I though she is.

As a prize, I’m taking her to a toy shopping spree. The daddy said so. Sky is the limit!!! ;p
